Yesterday was Josh's 35th birthday. In our house the birthday person gets to choose what they'd like me to make for their birthday dinner and what kind of birthday cake or dessert they'd like. Even though I asked Josh a few times earlier in the week what he wanted, he always said he'd think about it and get back to me later. He never did, so I finally suggested that he choose a restaurant for us all to go out to on his birthday, and I'd surprise him with a birthday dessert of my choosing.
We ended up going out to eat at the Chinese buffet and then went to Menard's where Josh bought a bunch of home improvement things and seed packets with some Menard's rebate checks and gift cards from Christmas. When we got home, we had the ice cream dessert I'd made for him. We didn't have 35 candles, so I arranged them to look like the number 35 when I put them on the dessert ... which you can't tell in the picture because it just looks like the cake is on fire! :)

(Day 59 of 365)F's birthday is tomorrow. F helped me bake her birthday cake after lunch. I still need to bake her birthday treat to take to school tomorrow. At her cousin E's suggestion, she's taking brownies to share with her class.
I also need to make Josh's birthday treat to take to work tomorrow. Yes, they take treats for their coworkers on their birthdays, too!
It's COLD and windy today and was yesterday also, but temps should be in the 40's by the end of the week. Happy March, and happy anniversary to my grandma and T!
Menard's, how could you!! ;) Just kidding! You know, hint, hint, there is a very nice man across the street, at Home Depot, that would love to see you guys. As well as help you with any of your needs. Hehehe, just messing with you! Happy Birthday Josh, and F of course!
ReplyDeleteFun birthdays! We are not that old already are we? YIKES!!! We love the chinese buffet or as B says, "Bu-hay."
ReplyDeletetjandjm ... When you have rebate checks and giftcards to Menard's and don't have to pay anything because of it, that's where you go! :)
ReplyDeleteDinah ... WE'RE not that old, just our husbands! LOL
