Due to the technological aspect of Josh's job, people often give him their old computers, cell phones, etc. so that he can recycle them or find another use for them. One of his co-workers gave Josh his old pocket pc when the co-worker no longer needed it since he got a new cell-phone that has all the pocket pc's functions on it. Josh already has his own "little computer", as the kids call it, so he didn't need it either. I'd been talking for a while about having one of my own, mainly for the portable calendar/scheduling aspect of it, so Josh gave me this one!
The back-up battery was dead, so we spent $17 for a new one, and Josh reprogrammed the computer for me. It has a calendar on it, address book, solitaire ;) , apps for notes and lists, and can access the internet so I can even check my email on it. There are probably a few more apps that I'm forgetting.
Josh says that it's hard to find these pocket pc's anymore because cell phones now have all of these functions, but neither of us has a cell phone, nor do we want one, so this is perfect for me!
