Home Soggy Home

Josh came home last night from a conference that he'd been at since Sunday afternoon. I'm so glad to have him back home again! I miss him so much when he's gone and I have to go to bed at night without him. I know that there are many, many couples out there where one or both spouses travel frequently and so they spend much more time apart than Josh and I do, but I'm so glad that we don't. Like Josh said, "I married you to spend time with you!"

When Josh came home, he brought "souvenirs" for the kids ... foam boomerangs and stress-relief squishy things shaped like big, stubby pencils from different vendors and sample size shampoo, conditioner, and lotion bottles from the resort. The kids loved them!

S recently discovered that he can stick his hands into his diaper! Ugh! I don't think any of the other kids did this when they wore diapers. Yesterday he did it when he was poopy. I didn't know he was poopy til he came to me wanting to wipe off his hands. YUCK! The interesting thing is that he even had a onesie undershirt on when he did this, but amazingly he didn't get much else dirty except his hands. S didn't like his hands being dirty like that, so I'm hoping he will keep his hands out of his diaper now!

The weather has been crazy lately! We've had temps in the 40's and 50's for a day or two and then down into the 20's and 30's again. The snow melts when it warms up, but then we get hit with some again, or else it's rainy and sleeting. We've had some standing water in our yard from all the melting snow and other precip. I think we've only had standing water in our yard one other time since we've moved here, and that was when the snow was melting but the drainage ditches by the road were still clogged with snow and ice, so the melted snow and ice didn't have anywhere to go but into the saturated yard. The pools of water in the yard are disappearing now, but things are still really soggy, and the sump pump runs very frequently throughout the day.

  1. Ah yes, the poo schmearers. Love 'em! :D I miss my hubby when he's gone too...and since B's come to live with us we've made a pretty concerted effort not to spend much time apart at all!
