Yesterday J's husband M flew back to WI after being away on a work-related trip for a week. We live closer to the airport than J's family, so she and their 4 kids came and spent the day with us while waiting for M's flight to get in at 9:30 pm.
The kids all played well together, and it was so wonderful to see J again!
J (on right) and meSince M's flight was delayed, J decided that they would spend the night at our house. Josh drove to the airport to pick up M while J and I stayed at home with the kids who were supposedly sleeping. (It was awfully noisy for quite a while in the bedrooms!)
After Josh and M got back to our house, we adults were up til after 1:00 am talking and looking at M's pictures from his trip.
This morning our family went to church. Since our guests hadn't originally planned on spending the night and didn't have a change of clothes, they opted to leave for their house when we left for church and get to their home in time to change and go to their church's late service.
I'm really looking forward to seeing J, M, and their family much more frequently than once a year!
Thanks Mel! I had a great time too! One of the blessings I was looking forward to with this call, was moving close to your family. I'm so happy the kids connected and had fun together too. Maybe our hopes of our families becoming close will happen after all. Love ya, Mel!
