While camping, we did some hiking.

The campground at which we stayed was a state park very close to the college that my brother and SIL, Josh and I all attended. Josh and I hadn't been back to the campus in 10 yrs (since his brother graduated from there), so it was really neat to go back and see all the changes since we'd been there. The most noticeable change was the new chapel that is being built.

While at our campsite, Joel accidentally threw a ball WAY up high in a tree where it got stuck. Josh used his creative ingenuity to throw a weighted rope up high so that it went around the branch and hung over the other side. Then he and Joel pulled on the two ends of the rope to wiggle the tree limb up and down to get the ball to fall down. It worked!
We played in the sand at the campground's swimming hole ...
... and went swimming, too.
We even buried each other in the sand! (They're not in pain; the sun was just shining very brightly!)On the day we left the campground and went to my brother's house, we first decided to eat lunch at the park across from the college campus. The stairs to the top of the park's monument were open due to a fundraiser that was going on, so Josh and my brother took E, J, and G to the top. SIL and I stayed on the ground with the younger kids. Here's J at the top!

While at my brother's house, Josh and he worked on fixing the shower which had been leaking. This picture was actually taken early on in the process. They ended up having to get rid of that whole tile floor in the shower and the concrete underneath it, too, and repour and slope 2 layers of concrete with a rubber liner in between them as well as put up new concrete wallboard in the shower and a new fan. They didn't get to the caulking and retiling while we were there. It took the 2 of them 3 days of hard work just to get done what they did!
... and a couple fireworks of our own to watch.
Our kids had a blast playing Mario Kart on the cousins' Wii.
We even had a visit from some celebrities while we were there!
We'd planned to leave and head home after lunch on the 6th, but Josh and my brother were trying to get some work finished up on the shower, and we didn't end up leaving til a LOT later. We got almost a whole extra day to spend with family which was nice, but we didn't get home til after 11:30 Monday night.
