Chilly Weekend

Friday S went to the apple and pumpkin farm with SP. I dressed him in a t-shirt with a long sleeved shirt over that, jeans, and a windbreaker-type jacket lined with fleece. I figured that would be warm enough, but the weather turned colder. SP said his hands were freezing, and she didn't have mittens for him to borrow. I felt so badly! I'm not in the mindset for weather that cold yet, and I just didn't think of it. He seemed fine when he came home though.

Friday night Josh and I went to one of our church's small group Bible studies in the home of some other members. (The kids all played in the basement with the other kids while the adults met upstairs.) The Bible study was on Christian parenting. It was fun, and there was some good discussion. There are 3 more Bible studies on the topic before the end of the year.

Yesterday I worked concessions from 7:00 am til almost 3:00 pm. Around 1:00 I looked out the window and noticed that it was snowing! It was more than flurries, but the snowflakes were really tiny. Nothing stuck though. I'm glad. I like snow in December, January, and early February, but October is just too early.

When I got home from work, Josh and the kids had worked really hard at home and cleaned alot. It was so nice to come home to a clean house!

E worked on her Island of the Blue Dolpins project some more and is almost done with it.

Temps got below freezing last night.

Today for Sunday School, E's class went to a nearby assisted-living facility and read Bible stories to some of the residents and then played Bible Bingo with them. Josh drove the kids and the teacher there and back.

The past two days the kids have been playing in the basement and making a "clubhouse". They cleaned up and moved aside a bunch of the boxes and things down there to make a bunch of rooms for their clubhouse. If I remember correctly, they have an exercise room, a play room, and a reading room. They're pretty proud of what they did and were having lots of fun.

Happy belated birthday to my dad whose birthday was yesterday!

Melanie
