Keeping Busy

Friday night we had our second parenting Bible class at S's house. Once again, all the kids played in their basement while we adults had our Bible study upstairs.

Yesterday I went in to work in the morning and stayed til suppertime to make up hours from when I didn't go in Thursday and Friday. I finished the financial stuff I'd started last Saturday and cleaned up the safe room and some of the workroom, too.

Today after church, Josh went over to the high school to work some more on setting up things for the musical. E had musical practice this afternoon. The performances are this week, so they're getting down to the wire.

Meanwhile, the rest of the kids and I went shopping. G needed new shoes since the ones I bought for him at the beginning of the school year were already falling apart, and I didn't realize this on Friday when we went shopping. J also needed some new pants, so we got him 2 pairs of jeans. I bought a new belt for myself since the one I use all the time is on its last legs. We also hit the Halloween candy aisle and picked up a bag of candy corn which I wanted to get to set aside to use later to make some snowman Christmas cookies. We don't celebrate Halloween, but I'd told the kids I'd get some candy for them after it, too, so we got a bag with Whoppers, Milk Duds, Heath bars and Paydays in it.

After getting all those things in our cart, the kids and I wandered through the toy and Christmas aisles just for fun. (I'm starting to get some ideas for them for Christmas presents. I'm behind this year. Usually by this time I've got a really good start on buying Christmas gifts.)

Back at home I worked most of the afternoon on E's quilt.

The kids are watching Ice Age 2: The Meltdown as I type.
