Decorating for Christmas

Today was the first home high school basketball game of the season which meant concessions is starting up for me again. However, after I got home from work at church and before I headed over the the high school, I hauled out the box of Christmas decorations and put them up.

I made these stockings for each of us (One each for Josh and me, too, but I couldn't find ours. They weren't packed away with the rest.).

The first year I made them, we only had 4 stockings, and I've since had to find different quilted Christmas fabric for each new stocking, which is not easy to find. Putting the stockings up hit me hard yesterday since I'd already bought some fabric for another one last year before we lost Hannah. It was one of those times where the feelings hit me out of the blue.

I also couldn't find the lighted garland that I put up on the ledge in our family room or the advent wreath. However, when I got home from working concessions, Josh had found the advent wreath. Maybe the garland is hiding with the missing stockings?!

But, with the exception of those things and the tree, the house is decorated for Christmas!
