Froehliche Weihnachten

Things continue to be very busy for me at work with the Advent and Christmas seasons upon us. Lots and lots of bulletins to run and the January church newsletter to publish and send.

Happy belated birthday to Josh's dad whose birthday was yesterday!

At the start of yesterday's 3:30 Advent service, the K-4th graders did their 10 minute German Christmas service. Unfortunately I missed the whole German program this year. Our sitter arrived with S just as church was starting, but S needed to use the bathroom. When he and I were about to go into church and sit down, I noticed that the ushers were completely out of bulletins, so I went to go make more. When I finished running copies and got the bulletins to the ushers, the kids' German portion of the service was all done.

Then, during the service, S was NOT behaving. I gave him plenty of warnings, and when I picked him up to take him out of church, he started shouting, "No! No, Mama! No!" Of course, this was during Pastor's sermon when everyone else was quiet. *Covering eyes and shaking head*

Today F only went to half-day kdg. One of her classmates (a boy) was having a Christmas party at his house. Only the boys in the class and F were invited. Yes, she was the only girl. This boy and F have been buddies for quite a few years, and his mom told us that he wanted F to come, too. F didn't mind being the only girl there, and she had fun. They played Bingo and made their own gingerbread houses. Here is F with hers.

(Day 349 of 365)

Unfortunately when I left work today to pick up S and then get F from the party, the van wouldn't start. JB came out and helped me jump the van with his SUV. The van didn't want to start at first, and it took a few tries before it finally did.

Josh took a look at it when we got home, and it started up just fine. He did tell me that he wasn't surprised that it was hard to jump the van because it's got a big engine and that he was never able to jump it with the minivan when we had it. Atleast it seems to be working okay now.
