Aprons

I've ruined a number of shirts while cooking, usually due to grease splatters. Josh once suggested that I wear an apron. Makes sense, doesn't it? But I didn't have an apron, and I couldn't decide on an apron pattern because none of them really appealed to me. So whenever I'm cooking something that might ruin my clothes, I throw on an old t-shirt.

But a couple of weeks ago, Minnesota Mom posted a picture of the apron she sewed for her sister-in-law for Christmas. I thought it was so pretty! That was an apron pattern that caught my eye, so I went to the site where she bought it and ordered it for myself.

Here is a close-up of the 3 fabrics I used.

My finished apron

The neat thing about this apron is that it's completely reversible so you can wear it with either side showing. This is the flip side of mine.

After watching me sew my apron, F wanted me to make her one, too. I had enough scraps left from mine to make a coordinating one for her. The style is different, but I'm proud to say that I didn't use a pattern but made it up myself.

F's apron

Our finished aprons together so that you get an idea of how big F's is compared to mine.

  3. I love this! I too have ruined numerous shirts because of grease splatters. I do wear an apron sometimes, but not one as adorable as this!! Wow...I should put my sewing machine to work like this too.
