This afternoon, F, S, my daycare kids, and I went for a walk down to the ponds near our house. As we walked past our neighbor's house and saw her DD and friend outside playing, we invited them to come along with us (with the mom's permission, of course).
We saw some big cattails ...
... and a goose sitting on a nest. She wasn't moving, so I assume she was keeping some eggs warm.
I made sure the kids didn't get too close. [The goose's head is that dark brown spot in the back just above and to the right of F's (light pink jacket) head.]
After walking all the way around one of the ponds, we headed back home.

Okay that's it... I am packing up and moving the Zoo to Wisconsin. It is SO beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Brandi! We'd love to have you, even if it's just for a visit. Just remember that the day after you had 100 degrees, we were about 50 degrees cooler, although we do get into the 90's in summer.
ReplyDeleteFun!! What a great experience for the children and yeah for you for finding the goose for them to see!
ReplyDeleteDinah, the kids are actually the ones who saw the goose first. ;)
