This afternoon I took F to the dr for her scheduled appt because of the sores on her legs. The dr said it could be eczema because that can really flare up at this time of year with all of the allergens in the air right now, but he also said it could be some fungal thing. He put her on an oral steroid prescription as well as a prescription for an antifungal cream to rub on her legs. Hopefully they'll work! If they don't, I think we'll try a dermatologist.
As for the blood part ... I donated blood today at the blood drive at the kids' school. At different times in the past I've been turned down because of my iron level being too low. Even though I've quit taking my iron pills, my iron level was high enough to donate. :)
Your title did sound a bit gory, lol. I hope your dd heals quickly. My Elisabeth had excema when she was little, but she only got it in patches and always in the same spot. Looking back now, I can't help but wonder if it wasn't caused by celiac.
ReplyDeleteWhat do the sores look like? Are they blistery at all? Impetigo is weepy and blistery and VERY itchy...two of my girls have had it, and you definitely want to nip it in the bud, if there's any chance that's what it is.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried to donate blood...I mean to, one of these days! Good for you for doing it!
Jenni, the sores start out like little scabby dots, but F says they itch alot, and I often have to tell her not to scratch. They tend to get somewhat weepy as she scratches them. I hadn't even thought of impetigo which I had once as a child. Hmmmm ...
