Today Josh and I celebrated our 12th anniversary!
At 4:30 this afternoon, Josh told me to change into the dress I'd worn to church this morning. I was confused because we'd talked earlier and said we were going to go out to eat with the kids at Buffalo Wild Wings ... but that's apparently what I was supposed to think. Unbeknownst to me, my beloved had made other plans!
Josh had arranged for a babysitter to come and watch the kids (So many people were on vacation that this was about the 10th person he called!) so that he and I could go out to eat at an English pub in the big city.
We parked a few blocks from the restaurant and walked. We saw this pretty building along the way.

The pub was along the riverwalk. We could have eaten outside, but, although the temps were wonderful, it was really windy, so we opted to eat inside next to the window. Here's the view out the window from our table.

There was even this neat British phone booth on the patio.

I feasted on fish and chips while Josh got the steak. Both of the meals were delicious! Josh's steak was almost tender enough to melt in his mouth!
The service was a bit slow, but the interior of the restaurant was nice. The restaurant had been in another place at one time, and when it moved to it's current location, the stained glass windows from the former residence were transported to the new place and incorporated into the new structure in various ways.
On our walk back to the van after dinner, I took a picture of this cool view Josh spotted of some downtown buildings reflecting on another one.
We didn't get dessert at the pub but instead went and had frozen custard at one of the big city's famous custard places. This one has a whole line of cow statues outside of it!
The two custard flavors of the day were cherry ameretto cheesescake and turtle sundae. It was too hard to decided which one to choose, so Josh and I both had a dish with a scoop of each in it! Yum!
Then, as we were driving home, we saw this striking sunset.

OH, this loos like a fabulous anniversary celebration! Congrats!
