Josh got the rest of the stumps of the bushes in front of the house removed today. For most of them, he dug around the ground by the roots to loosen it up a bit and then wrapped a chain around the stump, hooked it to the van's trailer hitch and pulled it out. Unfortunately one root ball was really stubborn and somehow ended up bending the hitch bar a bit. Oops!
In the afternoon we went to a family reunion for my extended family on my dad's side. It was my grandpa and his siblings, and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Not everyone was there, but a good number were.
Even though this is a yearly event, I think this is the first time we've gone to the reunion since Josh and I have been married. It's always scheduled for the same weekend which is usually on or around G's birthday, or we have a wedding to attend, etc.
The reunion was held at a park near my grandparents' house which I played at when I was little. The park has a big sandhill. It used to be a sandbox, but over the years, the box disappeared, and it's now a huge pile of sand. The sand is very fine, so it's nice and soft, and the kids who were there had a great time playing in it.

E worked really hard to dig a deep hole that ended up almost as deep as her arm.

S loved sitting in and rolling around in the sand.

The kids had fun making "sand angels".

And what was J doing while the kids were playing in the sand? Playing baseball with some of the men.
