Apples
When Josh was at his conference last week, he stayed overnight with his aunt and uncle. They have an apple tree in their yard with a bunch of apples, and they told him he could take as many as he wanted. He came home with a whole big paper grocery bag full. Right now he's sitting in the kitchen coring all of them in preparation to make applesauce and apple butter.
Meanwhile, the apples on our apple trees are growing. Look how many are on one of our trees already!

Nice about the gift of apples -- and double-nice to have your own apple tree! I WISH we had room for a few here. Technically, we could put some on the side yard, but we are not sure how long we'll live here and it takes years for a tree to produce. Of course, if we would have just done it right away, we'd have some NOW. Sigh.
