Caught Red-Handed ... Or Rather, "White-Lipped"

This afternoon J was at a birthday party for a classmate. I'd bought doughnuts the other day, and there were 4 left. I figured the 4 kids at home could have them for a snack this afternoon.

S was in the house, but the 3 others were outside picking up toys in the yard. I gave S one doughnut and told him to sit and eat it at the table. Then I left the room, leaving the open package of 3 remaining doughnuts on the counter.

G came in and asked if he could have a doughnut. I told him, "Yes, there is one for each of you."

"No," G replied, "there's only one left." Uh-oh!

Sure enough! I went into the kitchen, and there was S, still eating doughnuts and with powdered sugar on his lips. He'd eaten 3 doughnuts instead of just the one I gave him, and I'm sure he would have finished the fourth one if we hadn't stopped him in time.

Doughnut thief -- But what an adorable mug shot! :)
(Day 232 of 365)

Only E and G ended up wanting a doughnut, so they split the remaining one, and then we found something else for them and F to eat, so it wasn't much of a problem ... but still!
